Our Story. Our Farm
This venture of ours all started after we regularly took our lamb over to our family in Adelaide and they could not stop raving about the taste and it left them wanting more.
This then extended to our family, friends and beyond.
About Our Family Farm
Glengyle has been within the Mickan family since 1912. We crop 5000 acres of land ranging from undulating hills to clay flats where canola, wheat, lupins and beans are grown.
With the help of our border collie sheep dog 'Boots' we also run 2000 breeding ewes for wool and meat. Throughout the year they keep us busy, with 2 full weeks of shearing and 2 main lambing seasons, March- April and July- August.
From our farm to your fridge;
Our lambs are all hand picked from our paddocks, and are transported directly to the abattoir 10 minutes away to ensure a stress free lamb.
Each lamb is then chilled before being prepared and packaged by a local accredited butcher, where it then is packaged in a box and delivered in a refrigerated cool room to the northern suburbs of Adelaide (Brahma Lodge and Plympton) ready for your collection.
A half lamb box will contain approximately 9-11kgs of meat.
